Waldridge Park Thropton U10s formed in 2016 and coached by Brian Waites Level 1 Coach.
Waldridge Park Thropton U10s formed in 2016. Most of the players have been with the team from the start after graduating from the Waldridge development squad training program. Thropton have added to the squad as we progressed from 5v5 to
currently 7v7, with two of the players transferring from one of the other teams within the club.
Thropton is coached by Brian Waites who took over the team in October 2017. The current squad has a mixture of abilities but the lads as a team stick together to help each other out and work hard together to play football the way it should
be played. Coach Brian Waites has been involved with Waldridge since 2007 as a parent watching, and then had involvement playing in Waldridge’s over 40’s team and also the Waldridge adult teams Norton & Dronfield. The team has come on a lot since Brian took
over; they are all committed and have a passion to play the game. The work rate is second to none and they always give 100%. The lads always come off the pitch win, lose or draw saying they have enjoyed it, which is the most important part at this age in football.
Thropton train at least once a week and sometimes twice; they have also been involved in several tournaments during the end of season breaks. Brian said “It has been a pleasure to have the opportunity to take these lads and help them on
their way to play football and hope that together, we will have many more successful years ahead.
I would like to thank Thropton’s sponsors: The British Heart Foundation, and Holiday Stylist for the support they have given. Also a big thank you to the parents
who are very supportive towards the team and for bringing the lads along to training and the games on Saturday’s.”
